Co-Founder of SDC - the Sustainable Design Collective, Joanna Knight, has received an award in recognition of her work championing a greater focus on environmental impact within the workplace sector, at the Global Sustainability Summit held at the House of Lords on Thursday 28th March 2024.

The Sustainable Design Collective is pleased to announce the launch of a new logo as part of a revised visual brand identity.

Following the release of SDMagazine's second issue, several members give their thoughts in a series of videos - including why they feel the publication is important for the industry, what reads can expect inside and more.

We’re thrilled to announce that two members of the UK’s Sustainable Design Collective have been added to the panel of judges for the British Institute of Interior Design’s 2023 Interior Design Awards, taking place at Drapers Hall on 12th October.

A big congratulations is in order for SDC member Asif Din, having been shortlisted as one of five contenders for the "AJ100 Sustainability Champion of the Year 2023 award".

Our friends over at CFAS have published an in-depth article looking at last months Sustainable Design Forum & Awards in the Spring 2023 edition of the CFAS Journal.

In 2021, Unispace formed a collaboration with Casa Congo and Las Tejedoras to design an ‘impact driven product’ for the office sector.

The Sustainable Design Collective’s Forum, held at the end of April at the Crypt on the Green in Clerkenwell, was a hive of activity and ‘buzzing’ with discussions about the industry’s quest for achieving greater sustainability.

"How can you put tp bennett, Perkins&Will, Woodalls... people who would normally never collaborate together? I do think there is something special happening here - there are people coming together without any self-promotion or agenda."

Panel discussions with leading workplace designers, one to one conversations with suppliers, networking with colleagues and an interactive material lab.

After successfully hosting five collective meetings, the members are now offering the opportunity to open conversations with fellow designers as well as suppliers and manufacturers.

Having previously lived over at the Women In Office Design website, we're excited to have a dedicated space as we prepare for a busy year ahead and look forward to sharing meeting reports, updates and news from the Sustainable Design Collective.
